I got up out of bed at 5:30 this morning and drove to the west side of Tucson, beyond city limits. Now, to get across town, east to west, in Tucson is quite a drive. There are no freeways that run east to west. You have to use surface streets.
I was afraid I wasn't going to make it in time for the shots I wanted. I thought maybe I would miss the best part of sunrise. But I made it with plenty of time.
I didn't know exactly where I wanted to go, but just drove heading west and looking for a high piece of ground. I ended up stopping on the side of the road and hiking/climbing about a mile away from the car. With a bum knee (running too much and my IT band flared) and it my pajamas.
Loved this shoot this morning. Reminds me why I want to be a photographer.
Wow those are BEAUTIFUL!!!
